Re-Filter

We add our own “colors” to everything around us, pick them out, and define them. We may not perceive things (“colors” and shapes) in the same way as others do.

Sometimes images are astonishingly beautiful, sometimes horrifyingly distorted, and sometimes bewilderingly uneven, but we all see the same things.

If you have the imagination to peel away the thick outer filter and see things from different angles, you will realize that there is a variety of truth in everything and discover a new world

Passage of Time

The theme of this artwork is time.

Some of the views around us change day by day, while others do not change at all: the me from one year ago and the current me. Some things may have changed completely, but other things may not have. Before COVID-19, time seemed to pass like a supersonic train. Now, not only the world but also the passage of time has changed. We now have the chance to rethink our own concepts of time and, in a way, can hit the reset button.

So, the artwork shows this concept and it is my hope that visitors will be able to feel the origin of time.

Breathing

The wind provides us with many things: the sweet smell from a neighborhood cake shop, the nostalgic fragrance of spring grass, the soothing sound of the temple bell which rings every afternoon, and so on.

There may be times when we momentarily sense these things, but may not have the time to feel them deeply. Because of our busy daily lives, we don’t have the chance to sit peacefully and focus.

So, I desired to create a space where people can feel the wind and experience it with their whole being. I hope the wind will help to conjure up memories and help to get back the rich sensations that we may have forgotten.

This work expresses the life cycle of living things on the planet.
Trees that grow in the forest receive energy from the soil, flowers bloom and leaves sprout, and the trees eventually die. However, the dead leaves also provide new energy for the soil and grow other trees.

The Japanese children’s story “Gon”, This story is about the life of a little fox called Gon. The fox provides chestnuts to a huntsman to help his life. Humans live not only with humans, but make relationships with many creatures on the earth. People help us and we may help others in society. We need to take care of each other.

Someone walking next to you may be your friend or maybe a stranger. Regardless, we should treat one another with kindness. If everyone is feeling this way, society will be more peaceful.

Signs

Since ancient times, people have lived with the signs of beasts and disasters. Their insights came to the creation of being necessary for people’s progress, for example God or spirit. However in the modern world, many things are “visualized”, and it seems that the opportunity to feel signs has decreased.

Therefore, we decided to make an experiment to make “Signs” at This brewery trace that people created delicate taste feeling the work of microorganisms.
